Guitar Playing

TECHNIQUE AND THEORY

You'll learn all of the tools and techniques that your favorite guitar players use and how to apply them. We'll talk about practical music theory and how it translates to the fretboard and dive into techniques like bending, vibrato, and fingerpicking that will get you closer to playing your favorite songs and finding your own voice on the guitar.

IMPROVISATION & SOLOING

When you hear your favorite guitar player, you can almost instinctively recognize them based on the way they play. How is that possible? Of course the gear they use plays a role, but even more  important is their playing style. That is, the way a guitar player attacks a note, bends a string, or uses vibrato influences the resulting sound that they produce. So, how do we make you sound like...well, you? We'll dive into scales and modes to give you a broad palette of notes to create solos, and I'll show you a few tricks I've come up with to build them into your playing without much extra effort.

YOUR GOALS

While everything I've mentioned above is important when learning the guitar, the most important thing is that you are making progress towards your goals as a guitar player and you're enjoying yourself while doing so. You and I will constantly assess your progress and how it aligns with where you want to be as a guitar player.
