FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long does each lesson last?

Lessons will be sold in 30-minute blocks. You can book as much time as you like, but I’d recommend 30 minutes to start. This will give us time to talk through a topic, go through some examples, and provide some materials and exercises to work on throughout the next week. The time we spend together in lessons should be a very small portion of the time you spend playing guitar, you should think of our time together as “strategizing” for your practice throughout the following week!

How much do you charge for a lesson?

I charge $25 for every 30-minute block.

How much time should I spend practicing every week?

There’s not a set amount that will get you to where you want to be, but I’d recommend keeping your guitar in a place where you spend a lot of time. Try to pick it up for 30 minutes to an hour a day if possible, the most important thing when learning anything new is consistency. As mentioned above, the time we spend together shouldn’t be the bulk of your guitar playing time.

What methods of payments do you accept?

I accept Venmo, Zelle, cash, check, and large quantities of Ferrero Rocher chocolates.

How often will you require payment?

This can be flexible, but generally I’d prefer either paying by the lesson or paying every month depending on the cadence of your lessons.

Do you offer any discounts?

Our first lesson will be free, as it’ll primarily be a getting-to-know-you session where we’ll talk through your music interests, favorite guitarists, and your goals for our time together.

What if I can't make it to a scheduled lesson?

Things happen! If you don’t show up it’s no problem at all, I’ll only charge you for the lessons you attend. I just ask that you text me if you can beforehand and try not to make it a recurring issue, we can always adjust your lesson cadence or change the lesson time if necessary!

What if I'm late to a lesson?

Similar to the above, it’s no big deal. That said, if you’re going to be more than 10 or 15 minutes late to a 30-minute lesson, I’d ask that you just skip the lesson entirely and let me know you won’t be making it. If a student arrives any later than 10 or 15 minutes it risks running into the next student’s time.

Do you offer make up lessons if I miss our scheduled time?

I’ll take this on a case-by-case basis. If my schedule permits I’ll be happy to try to fit you into the week if you weren’t able to make it to your scheduled lesson!

How will you contact students?

If it’s a broader message that will need to be relayed to all students, I’ll likely send out an email to everyone. As for contacting an individual student, I’d prefer to send a quick text if it's okay with the student.

How should I contact you?

You’re welcome to text, call, or email me. I’ll give you all my contact information on day one!
